cript engraved ‘Oiva Toikka Nuutajarvi Notsjo’. Bears handwritten label ‘£16.20’
From a series designed by Toikka in various sizes and colour combinations, which he designed between 1965 and 1970. The unpolished fused sections, which form part of the decoration, show an interest in the characteristics of “hot glass”, a central feature of the studio glass movement then emerging in Europe and the USA.
Purchased from Danasco, the London based importers of Scandinavian wares around 1969 for sale in the Craft department of the Bristol Guild.
