Cardiff BA Ceramics in the window
An exhibition of ceramics by third year BA Ceramics students at Cardiff School of Art and Design in three parts.
Part 1: 8 March – 1 April 2021 – Intuitive – Rosie Harman, Paul Kharade, Claire Stephens
Part 2: 3 April – 29 April 2021 – Reflective – Lucy Turner, Rebekah Barnett, Faye Green
Part 3: 30 April – 27 May 2021 – Adaptive – Rhyann Arthur, Emily Whitworth, Jane MacFarlane
The shows were designed to be seen from the street, a three-part, Covid-safe window exhibition showcased work by 2nd Year BA Ceramics students from Cardiff College of Art and Design, made in response the Stradling Collection but delayed by a year due to – you guessed it – Covid 19.
Each year the students bring something different to the way they display their work. In 2021 they divided their group of nine participants into three separate monthly exhibitions from March to May, each with a different theme.
We can imagine how hard it was for students not being able to work together in the studios, sharing ideas, experiments, laughter. But the desire to create something special despite the obstacles shone through in the work on display.
